Overview
Tango Trees is a busy wholesale nursery specialising in growing advanced trees for the landscape industry in Loganholme.
We require a Nursery Hand to join our dynamic production team to conduct chemical spraying and general nursery hands duties.
The Nursery Hand would have proven industry experience or horticultural knowledge
Key position requirements
Currently holding a license to spray chemicals with a proven ability to mix and distribute chemical sprays
Good knowledge of general nursery plant species grown within industry
Positive knowledge of general nursery pest and disease
Good knowledge of production tasks including propagation, potting, fertilizing, plant care, weeding, staking, watering and maintenance.
The ability to keep accurate spray records
The ability to achieve production KPI's and quality control targets.
The ability to work as part of a team or individually.
Ability to follow direction.
Physically fit - the role can require long periods of standing and being active for most of the day.
The ability to work in all weather conditions such as heat, cold and rain.
A Cert. 3 in Horticulture or above is beneficial but not essential.
An understanding of AS 2303:2015 /NATSPEC would be highly regarded but not essential.
All applicants must have their own transport.
The position will become full time after a successful 3 month casual probation and based on a 38 hour week.
Work hours are Monday to Thursday 6.30 to 3.10 and Fridays 6.30 to 12.40. These hours include a 20 minute morning tea break and a 30 minute lunch break.
The rate of pay will be determined by the successful applicant/s level of skill as per the national Nursery Award.
