Central Gippsland Health is a sub‐regional health service and the major provider of health and aged care services in the Wellington Shire.
CGH operates across three campuses – Sale, Maffra and Heyfield – delivering acute, rehabilitative and community services. The service includes a full‐time emergency department, critical care and neonatal units, operating theatres, day procedure units, oncology and dialysis services, general medicine, sub‐acute rehabilitation and aged care.
Four residential aged care homes are located in Sale, Maffra and Heyfield, providing person‐centred care in supportive and homelike environments. Community‐based services support people to remain healthy, active and independent in their homes, including Support at Home and Commonwealth Home Support Programs. CGH also offers multidisciplinary allied health and public dental services and is a leading teaching hospital affiliated with Monash University.
About the Department
The Environmental Services Department provides a wide range of services across all CGH campuses.
* Portering services; linen, patient, specimen, and file transfers
* All aspects of housekeeping and cleaning
* Ensuring campuses meet Victorian Government cleaning standards
* Effective waste management and waste audits
* Supporting a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors and staff
About the Role
* Ensure a clean and safe environment for patients, staff and visitors
* Work collaboratively with all members of the Environmental Services Team
Duties
* Provide safe and timely portage services for linen, patients, specimens, files, trolleys/beds and other patient‐related items
* Assist clinical and non‐clinical leaders in managing disruptive patients/visitors, following CGH de‐escalation guidelines
* Complete cleaning of various areas and equipment as scheduled, adhering to infection control and cleaning standards
* Carriage of deceased persons to the mortuary and, when required, preparation for viewing
* Removal and redistribution of furniture, equipment and other fittings throughout the hospital, including staff accommodation facilities
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
* Demonstrated job‐relevant experience
* Effective interpersonal and communication skills suitable for a public‐facing role in a health environment
* Current Security Licence
