Join Our Team as an Actuarial Consultant
Role
We are seeking an experienced Actuarial Consultant to join our fast-growing Analytics & Consulting team in Brisbane. In this role, you will partner with clients to transform actuarial modelling and risk analytics into actionable strategies that improve performance and manage risk.
Key Responsibilities
* Apply actuarial modelling to areas such as claims forecasting, risk assessment, insurance program optimisation, and climate risk strategy
* Build and interpret stochastic models, including Monte Carlo simulations, to quantify uncertainty and guide client decisions
* Develop and deploy predictive models such as Generalised Linear Models (GLMs) and deep neural networks to uncover trends and improve forecasts
* Support business development by identifying consulting opportunities and strengthening client relationships
* Conduct data analysis and statistical modelling using Python, R, and SQL
* Prepare clear, compelling reports, proposals and presentations
* Collaborate with brokers, engineers, and domain experts to align technical outcomes with commercial goals
* Enhance internal methodologies and frameworks
Required Skills
* A minimum of 3 years of experience in relevant fields
* Proficiency in Python or R and expertise in SQL
* Demonstrated experience in simulation and statistical modelling
* Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field
* Strong communication skills
Desirable Attributes
* FIAA / AIAA (or equivalent)
* Knowledge of geospatial analytics
