Experienced Family Lawyer
This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-respected legal practice based in Wollongong. We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic solicitor to practice primarily in family law.
About the Role
You will have carriage of an existing family law caseload and will be responsible for managing files from commencement through to resolution. You will also assist the Principal of the firm with other matters from time to time and contribute to the continued growth of the practice by developing and maintaining client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manage a family law caseload independently from start to finish
2. Appear in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia and Local Court
3. Liaise with clients and provide clear, accurate, and practical legal advice
4. Draft pleadings, evidence, agreements, and legal correspondence
5. Negotiate matters and attend mediations and conferences
6. Assist the Principal as required across other legal matters
7. Attract and maintain new clients and referrals
About You
1. Demonstrated experience in family law (essential)
2. Experience in other areas of law will be highly regarded
3. Currently on, or eligible for admission to, the Legal Aid Family Law Panel
4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
5. Strong time-management and organisational abilities
6. Interest in advocacy and developing long-term client relationships
7. High attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities
8. Experience with LEAP software is desirable but not essential
