How will you contribute?
As a
Senior Auditor
, you will deliver high quality audits on the effectiveness of controls over IT systems. Systems Assurance audit work ranges from traditional IT Audit work such as evaluating and/or testing General IT Controls in support of the financial statement audits, through to business process control identification and testing. This includes specific focus areas such as project governance, cyber security assessments, and contributing to audits under our Performance Audit mandate to evaluate effectiveness and efficiency of relevant areas of government.
You will be joining a highly engaged and well-regarded team of specialists and be supervising and coaching auditors as well as working independently to complete audit assignments.
Key responsibilities of this role include:
Ensure all audit work is completed effectively and efficiently and meets the requirements of the Audit Office's audit methodology, professional standards and legislation.
Provide audit team members with appropriate supervision, coaching and opportunities to enhance audit knowledge and skills through on-the-job training.
Ensure quality and timely audit outcomes are achieved by maintaining strong and professional relationships with clients and proactively communicating with internal and external stakeholders.
Identify and resolve issues which have the potential to adversely affect outcomes and timeframes, and where appropriate, upscale to the Associate Director.
Provide sound and well-reasoned audit documentation to support assurance opinions.
Contribute to the development of compelling reports with observations and recommendations that are supported by appropriate evidence and analysis of data.
Embrace and encourage audit and other strategic change initiatives.
Ensure compliance with the Audit Office Code of Conduct and all other internal policies, business rules and procedures, including records management and workplace health and safety policies.

What will you need to succeed?
We are seeking candidates who have 3+ years' experience in IT audit or a related field and can manage moderately complex IT audit engagements either independently or with a small team. Candidates should have strong leadership skills, high personal integrity and a proven ability to manage multiple priorities.
You will also need:
A tertiary qualification in an appropriate business or technical discipline.
Membership of a professional association and post-graduate certifications or qualifications related to system assurance (e.g. CISA), cyber, data or accounting.
Proficient understanding and knowledge of relevant legislation, professional standards, auditing concepts and techniques.
Australian permanent resident or citizen or New Zealand citizen.
Successful police check.

On offer is a 35-hour work week and a total remuneration package (including superannuation) from
$119,108 to $157,063
per annum depending on your experience, skills and capabilities.

The Audit Office is committed to supporting flexible working arrangements to create a diverse, skilled and motivated workforce capable of delivering quality products and efficient services. Our standard way of working requires you to work at least 50% of contracted hours from either our head office, an audit location, or a related worksite. If required, you can balance your attendance on-site over a month, with a minimum of one day per week in one of these locations.
