About the Role
Anglicare Southern Queensland is seeking a Practitioner, Bail Support to provide case management and targeted support to young people at risk of being remanded in custody. This role involves working with young people and their families to ensure compliance with bail conditions, build life skills, and connect them to education, housing, health, and family support.
You will deliver both practical and therapeutic assistance, support cultural engagement, and provide one-on-one and group programs. Working collaboratively with Youth Justice, families, and community stakeholders, you will help young people successfully transition within their community while reducing offending.
This is a Fixed-Term, Full-Time opportunity for 6 months leave cover until 30 June 2026 with flexibility required for work outside standard business hours and on-call support as needed and required.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide case management for young people, including assessment of risks and needs, care planning, and implementation of crisis or safety plans.
* Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with Youth Justice requirements.
* Facilitate programs and activities to support social, educational, and cultural engagement for young people.
* Support young people and their families to transition successfully into the community, including assistance with accommodation, skills development, and access to funding opportunities.
* Maintain comprehensive documentation, care plans, and reports.
* Participate in team meetings, supervision, and professional development opportunities.
* Contribute to continuous improvement and positive team culture within Anglicare.
About You
You are a compassionate and skilled professional with experience in youth justice, child protection, or family support services. You bring strong case management skills, cultural awareness, and a trauma-informed, person-centred approach to your work. You are able to manage complex situations, respond effectively to crises, and build meaningful relationships with young people and their families.
Credentials and Qualifications
* Current Blue Card
* Current Licensed Care Service (LCS) approval
* Current Queensland Driver Licence
* Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, Behavioural Science, or related field
* Knowledge of youth justice and child protection frameworks and relevant legislation
* Experience in professional case work with children and families
* Strong communication, documentation, and computer skills
* Ability and willingness to work outside standard business hours and provide on-call support as required
