Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Trade Assistant to join our team in the Singleton area.
The ideal candidate will have experience in general building maintenance and handyman duties, with a strong understanding of tools and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting trade services - Carpentry, Plumbing, Electrical, HVAC
- Basic grounds maintenance - zero turn mowers, brushcutters, hedgers, etc.
- Maintaining material stock and equipment
- Cleaning and organizing workspace
- General handyman duties
- Minor building work - fit outs if required
- General site clean-up work - hosing, sweeping, shovelling, etc
- Conducting inspections
- Driving on-site interactions
- Communicating with the Facilities Coordinator
- Adhering to company policies and procedures
- Participating in daily risk management processes and toolbox meetings
- Undertaking Job Safety Analysis before each task
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in general building maintenance or handyman duties
- Strong understanding of tools and equipment
- Good work ethic and reliability
- Effective communication skills
- Current driver's licence and own transport (Manual preferred)
- White Card
- Reside within 45 minutes of Singleton
- High level of physical fitness for manual handling
- Grounds maintenance experience desirable but not essential
- Ability to plan, prioritise and problem solve
- Work effectively both alone and as part of a team
- Stand/walk over long periods indoors and outdoors during varying conditions
- Experience in documented risk management processes
- Understanding of Work, Health & Safety
- Provide 3 work-related references
- Pass a full medical including drug and alcohol testing
