RATP Dev is expanding in Australia. Following a successful project at Western Sydney Airport, we are now recruiting for our Melbourne operations.
About the Role:
Under the leadership of the Melbourne Managing Director, the Commercial Manager plays a key role in managing the project's commercial, contractual, and financial aspects. They will oversee contract and financial management, ensure compliance, mitigate risks, and drive value throughout the project's lifecycle, which involves a complex commercial structure with multiple partners and stakeholders.
The role also involves building strong, trust-based relationships with the public transport authority, key stakeholders, and partners to ensure transparency and alignment on financial and contractual matters.
Commercial Management
* Manage the full contract lifecycle, from negotiation and execution to compliance with legal, organizational, and industry standards.
* Review and interpret contract terms to ensure alignment with project objectives and regulatory requirements.
* Lead contract negotiations with clients, partners, subcontractors, and stakeholders to establish fair and beneficial agreements.
* Act as the primary commercial contact with partners and the public transport authority.
Financial Leadership
* Oversee cost control, forecasting, and reporting to support financial and operational decisions, including financial modeling and changes requested by the Public Transport Authority.
* Ensure accuracy of revenue, cost, and investment projections.
* Develop long-term financial plans and monitor performance against targets.
* Collaborate with the finance team on budget forecasting and financial reporting in coordination with shareholders’ finance teams.
Governance and Risk
* Identify financial and commercial risks and develop mitigation strategies.
* Assess the impact of proposed changes on scope, schedule, cost, and risk, and negotiate adjustments as needed.
* Identify, assess, and mitigate risks related to contract performance, compliance, and execution, including legal, financial, and operational risks.
* Ensure alignment with group financial policies, accounting standards, and internal controls.
* Participate in governance meetings, representing the commercial and financial functions.
