DIAM (Diego Idarraga Academy of Music) has operated since 2017, bringing the joy of music to children from all ages, through high level performances (Rock Concerts, Orchestral Concerts, Musical Theatre Concerts) with the vision of building character in children through music. www.diammusic.com.au
What we are looking for
- Multi-instrumentalist music tutors (Vocals-Piano-Guitar), Brass tutors and Strings tutors to work at Lindfield and Lane Cove. Wollongong applicants are also needed. Tutors able to teach any combination of instruments between the above mentioned will be taken into account.
- Talented, vibrant, passionate musicians and professional instrumental tutors who have good rapport with children. Teachers who are flexible and versatile, who adapt their teaching to different genres and degrees of musical ability in the students. Communication skills and professionalism a must. Able to commit to teach throughout the school terms is essential.
Qualifications & experience
- Performance level equivalent to a between AMEB 4th grade and MMus level.
- Experience with AMEB examinations, AMEB syllabus and enrolment procedures.
- Experience in teaching online when required.
- Brass and Woodwind teachers: experience preparing students for school band rehearsals and performances. Experience tutoring rock bands a plus.
- Singing teachers: experience preparing students for performances, genre versatility. Experience tutoring rock bands a plus.
- Guitar Teachers: Experience preparing students for ensemble and rock band performances. Being able to dominate both Classical and Electric Guitar a plus. Experience with Guitar Ensembles a plus. Experience tutoring rock bands a plus.
- Piano Teachers: Experience with classical music and/or contemporary popular music repertoire. Most students are beginners so no need to be an advanced player. Experience tutoring rock bands a plus.
- Working with children check required.
Tasks & responsibilities
- Record your weekly lessons in the online system accurately.
- Communicate effectively and in a timely manner with parents and the Director.
- Teach weekly one-on-one or group tuition face-to-face or online for children from age 5 onwards.
- Prepare students for performances every term.
- Awareness of the yearly calendar in order to prepare students for the different events.
- Gain teaching experience by tutoring children from all different levels and participate in the excitement of preparing students for events such as: Students Concerts, Band Concerts, Rock Concerts, Eistedfods and Musical Theatre performances.
