The Opportunity

We are searching for a driven and experienced Marine Crewing Officer to coordinate all aspects of crewing for crewing vessels based out of Darwin. In this hands-on role, you'll work closely with internal teams, vessel personnel, and external clients to ensure that crew mobilisations are timely, compliant, and efficient.

Key Responsibilities


• Manage deployment and demobilisation of marine crews across a variety of projects.


• Keep records current for crew qualifications, medicals, onboarding, and compliance documentation.


• Work directly with clients to confirm rosters and staffing needs for each operation.


• Source, select, and onboard skilled personnel to meet Birdon's operational requirements.


• Arrange staff travel, medical examinations, and training as required.


• Monitor compliance with AMSA, MLC, STCW, and EBA regulations.


• Support the induction process and ensure proper onboarding for all new crew members.


• Maintain and update internal crewing systems for certification and roster management.


• Take ownership of security clearances and update management on crew upgrades

About You


• Demonstrated background in marine crewing or logistics coordination is highly regarded.


• Strong understanding of maritime certifications and compliance.


• Excellent organisational skills, able to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.


• Well versed in Excel, Word, SharePoint and other MS applications


• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.


• Experience with EBAs, AMSA requirements, and maritime-specific systems (such as OPMS) preferred.


• Background in HR, Business Administration, Maritime Operations or equivalent experience beneficial.


• Unrestricted Australian work rights and ability to pass maritime security checks.


• Ability to meet security clearances, own or can obtain an MSIC


• Full work rights with no restrictions to work in Australia
