We are currently seeking an experienced Production Coordinator to join our team at our Purton Road, Pakenham manufacturing site. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this is a hands‑on leadership role critical to ensuring efficient, safe and high‑performing production operations.

About the Role
As Production Coordinator, you will take ownership of the day‑to‑day coordination and performance of our production operations. You will lead from the floor, driving output, safety, quality and continuous improvement while developing a motivated and high‑performing team.
You will work closely with Production Scheduling, Maintenance, Quality, Procurement and Warehouse teams to ensure customer requirements are met and production targets are consistently achieved.

Key Responsibilities
* Lead and coordinate daily production activities to achieve output and efficiency targets
* Provide hands‑on leadership and training to leading hands, operators and casual staff
* Drive a strong safety‑first culture, ensuring all policies and procedures are followed
* Manage staff scheduling to ensure optimal utilisation across all shifts
* Troubleshoot production issues in collaboration with maintenance and develop SOPs to reduce downtime
* Follow production schedules and provide timely feedback on risks or constraints
* Ensure accurate completion of job cards and production reporting
* Manage stock levels of raw materials, WIP and packaging in collaboration with planning, procurement and warehouse teams
* Maintain organised, clearly labelled and audit‑ready stock areas
* Work closely with Quality to ensure compliance with food safety, GMP, HACCP and regulatory requirements
* Support audits, corrective actions and continuous improvement of quality systems
* Lead and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives using LEAN and CI principles
* Assist with NPD and production‑related projects as required
* Support cost control and identify opportunities for operational efficiencies

About You
You are a proactive, hands‑on production leader who thrives in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. You lead by example, communicate clearly, and take ownership of outcomes.
You will ideally have:
* Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar production or manufacturing coordination role
* Formal HACCP training
* Strong leadership experience with an understanding of plant and process efficiencies
* Experience leading continuous improvement initiatives
* Intermediate computer skills (MS Office, Outlook)
* Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills
* Excellent communication and team‑building abilities
Highly regarded:
* Qualifications in Food Science, Engineering or a related discipline
