About the Role
Our Assistant Store Manager roles are a gateway to the Store Manager role, providing an opportunity for future retail leaders to learn and hone their leadership skills for appointment into their own store.
As an Assistant Store Manager at Woolworths Supermarkets, you are at the forefront of delivering value to our customers and creating a great place to work and grow careers for our team.
You will coach and support the Grocery Manager, Online Manager, and Nightfill Manager to deliver outstanding service through a connected team.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate an unwavering focus on customer satisfaction by enabling a positive whole‐of‐store shopping experience through Everyday ACTs – Acknowledge, Care & Thank.
- Make safety a top priority for team and customers by ensuring correct processes are followed in store.
- Support a culture of collaboration within departments to create a great experience for our team members and ensure meaningful hours.
- Support the development of the wider store team and leaders to unlock their potential so that they can achieve their career goals at Woolworths.
- Use data to deeply understand the needs of customers and ensure priorities relevant to your store are prioritised to improve both team and customer experience.
- Deliver key performance metrics and targets across the Grocery, Online and Nightfill departments by working with the Department Managers to ensure appropriate resourcing and that the team are correctly trained and processes are followed.
- Support strong community partnerships to bring value and connection to the wider community.
- Act on and support the Sustainability Plan to contribute to creating a better tomorrow for everyone.
Qualifications
- A strong desire to lead store operations, providing leadership and coaching to your team on a day‐to‐day basis.
- Ability to work well with others through collaboration to achieve great outcomes and grow your knowledge.
- Aware of your own leadership style and desire to grow into a future leader.
- Advocate and role model ways to delight customers through Everyday ACTs – Acknowledge, Care & Thank.
- Appreciate the value of working across the store to enable a positive entire shopping experience for our customers.
- A curious mindset to develop your own skills and capabilities to support you to take the next step in your career.
