Expressions of Interest: Group Marketing Manager – Lead, Support, Strengthen Our Story
About the Opportunity
We're looking for a marketing professional to help guide how our entire group of businesses presents itself—both to the communities we work in and to the people who join us. This is a full‑time, standalone role with real purpose. You'll be helping to carry forward the story of a company that has been part of Australia's industrial landscape for more than 140 years, while also supporting the next chapter of growth and diversification.
This isn't a traditional marketing role. Much of our work comes from long‑term contracts, partnerships, and major projects, so the usual consumer‑driven approach doesn't apply here.
Instead, the heart of this role is about consistency, clarity, reputation, and connection: building trust in who we are, showcasing the work we do, supporting our teams, and strengthening the sense of pride across the group.
You'll lead group‑wide initiatives, and you'll also support individual businesses at a high level—helping them shape campaigns or programs, then handing over the reins so they can take the idea forward. That handover is important. It means the right person will be someone who can create something meaningful, then enjoy seeing others bring it to life in their own way.
What You'll Do
* Develop practical, group‑wide marketing approaches that reflect our identity and support all our businesses.
* Work alongside business units to design the foundations of campaigns or programs, before passing day‑to‑day delivery back to them.
* Build tools, templates, resources, and guidelines that help teams manage their own marketing confidently and consistently.
* Look after group‑level communication and content—websites, social media, printed materials, presentations, events, and internal updates.
* Support community engagement, recruitment marketing, and our presence at major trade shows and industry events.
* Maintain brand consistency across the group and help bring clarity and alignment to how we present ourselves.
* Work directly with senior leaders to help express who we are, what we do, and what we stand for, whilst reporting directly to the Managing Director.
Who We're Looking For
* Have experience in a broad or senior marketing role, especially one that spans multiple businesses or brands.
* Feel comfortable working independently and enjoy building strong relationships across different teams and sites.
* Can move easily between strategy and hands‑on tasks—writing copy, updating web content, creating simple graphics, or supporting events when needed.
* Communicate clearly and respectfully and take pride in producing work that others can rely on.
* Can develop an idea, hand it over, and take satisfaction in seeing it grow—even if the final version isn't exactly how it started.
* Are willing to adapt to a workplace where marketing plays a steady, thoughtful, long‑term role rather than a fast‑paced consumer‑driven one.
