The Duties:
The Piggery Manager will oversee a 850 Sow production unit within the South Burnett region.
Reporting to the CEO, responsibilities will be diverse to include the management of:
* Animal husbandry and welfare through all stages of pig production.
* Breeding, farrowing, weaning and grow-out operations.
* Feed and nutrition.
* Animal health.
* Environment and biosecurity.
* Hygiene and facility maintenance.
* Data and compliance.
* Piggery staff
* Continuous improvement.
What You Will Need:
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate:
* Proven knowledge and experience with pig breeding, farrowing, weaning and grow-out systems.
* Competence in feed management and animal nutrition.
* A strong understanding of animal health programmes and medications.
* Experience in leading and motivating a team.
* Excellent record keeping skills with attention to detail.
* Good communication and problem-solving skills.
* Physical fitness with a willingness to work hands-on when required.
* Availability for early morning starts and weekend work rosters.
* A proven commitment to safe working practices.
* A current Australian driver licence.
* Relevant rights to work in Australia.
Although not essential, preference will be shown to applicants also able to offer any of the following:
* Qualifications / certificates in Agriculture, Animal Science or other related fields.
* Team management and leadership experience.
* Relevant industry training & experience in animal vaccinations, artificial insemination, mating, genetics, breeding management and pregnancy testing.

Over 60 staff work in various enterprises and facilities within the South Burnett with the head office based in Kingaroy.
