Our client is an ASX listed exploration and development company strategically placed to be a key supplier to the Ni-Co battery market.
With DFS works underway, the company is currently in an exciting growth period having very recently signed a significant MOU with European car manufacturers.
They are looking to appoint a Chief Financial Officer to work closely with the CEO and Board to drive the project forward and build significant shareholder value.
**The CFO will be responsible for**:
Leadership and People Management:
- Oversee all key elements of the Finance function including financial reporting, financial and management accounting, company tax and regulatory compliance, financial controls (budgeting, planning, forecasting, risk managements etc.), corporate finance, treasury, and the underlying management information systems utilised
- Provide strong leadership and ensure clear strategic objectives are in place
- Promote the organisation's core values and a strong team culture
- Manage the day to day performance, learning and development of the team, including one on one feedback sessions and conduct performance appraisals.
Finance
- Forecasting of medium and long
- term funding and hedging requirements
- Debt facilities management
- Development of risk mitigation strategies including liquidity, market, credit and operational risks
- Prepare credit investor presentation materials in close coordination with Investor Relations, and implement an effective credit investor engagement strategy
- Develop and execute global financing strategy and policies, including but not limited to capital allocation and debt portfolio management
- Monitor global capital markets with a focus towards optimising the company's funding costs
- Lead the cross-functional evaluation of project financing options and make recommendations consistent with the company's operational and strategic objectives
- Maintaining global relationships with external financial institutions. Serve as a liaison between the company's internal stakeholders and financial institutions facilitating presentation and execution of proposed strategies
- Develop expert knowledge of the company's debt agreements, including covenants
- Lead the development of financing documents, including indentures, bank credit facilities, asset backed facilities, securitisations and leases
- Lead the execution of capital markets financing transactions with external and internal parties
Reporting & Compliance
- Develop effective tax planning strategies and oversee the filing of all tax returns
- Ensure that the organization complies with all Tax regulations
- Preparation and ASX and ATO reporting of the company's financial position
**Essential Skills and Experience**
- Bachelor's degree with emphasis in Accounting/Finance
- CPA Qualifications, desirable
- Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas simply
- Experience working for a ASX mining organisation
- Strong understanding of governance and reporting
- Strong financial modelling skills
- Strong understanding of project financing
