Based in Dandenong and Pakenham, Victoria, the company operates modern workshop facilities with a skilled and committed team, specialising in panel beating, spray painting, and mechanical repairs across all vehicle makes and models.
They are seeking a skilled and experienced Motor Mechanic to join their team. The ideal candidate will have strong diagnostic abilities, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship. This role will be responsible for inspecting, servicing, and repairing vehicles to ensure they are operating safely and efficiently in accordance with industry standards.
The annual salary for this full-time position is $76,000 to $78,000.
Responsibilities include:
* Diagnose mechanical faults in petrol and diesel vehicles using diagnostic equipment and technical manuals.
* Conduct routine maintenance services, including oil changes, lubrication, and filter replacements.
* Inspect engines, transmissions, brakes, steering systems, and suspension components to identify wear and damage.
* Repair or replace defective parts such as spark plugs, brake pads, clutches, and timing belts.
* Dismantle and reassemble engines, gearboxes, and other mechanical components as required.
* Test and adjust vehicle systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance with manufacturer specifications.
* Perform wheel alignments, balancing, and tyre replacements where necessary.
* Use specialised tools and diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electronic issues.
* Maintain accurate service records and document repairs, parts used, and labour performed.
* Ensure all work complies with workplace health and safety regulations and industry standards.
* Communicate with customers regarding vehicle issues, repair options, and estimated costs.
* Maintain a clean and organised workshop environment and ensure tools and equipment are properly serviced and stored.
Qualifications:
* Must have three (3) years of experience.
* Should possess a Certificate in Automotive Mechanical Engineering.
