Build Technology That Transforms Healthcare
About us
At Seer, we believe technology can transform healthcare for the better. We design and build neurological monitoring devices that reimagine how and where care is delivered, putting patients first and enabling clinicians to act faster with better data.
By making home-based neurological monitoring accessible at scale, we are helping to relieve pressure on overburdened healthcare systems, accelerate diagnosis and treatment, and support better outcomes for people living with epilepsy and other neurological conditions.
Headquartered in Melbourne, Australia, our team includes engineers working across hardware, software and data science to push the boundaries of what is possible in medtech.
About the role
We're looking for a Senior Product Designer to help shape the usability and workflows of Seer's software products.
This is a hands-on, craft-focused role centred on designing clear, robust experiences for complex, real-world systems. You'll work on clinician-facing EEG review and reporting tools, as well as internal systems used to run and administer ambulatory EEG studies.
Seer's products span both cloud software and physical EEG hardware, so this role involves designing workflows that sit across devices, systems, and operational contexts.
What you'll work on
As a Product Designer at Seer, you'll focus on:
* End-to-end workflow design for clinicians, operations teams, and internal users
* Translating complex clinical and operational processes into software flows that are understandable, safe, and scalable
* Designing experiences for EEG review, reporting, and study administration
* Identifying unnecessary complexity, hidden assumptions, and brittle handoffs in existing systems
* Creating wireframes, prototypes, and service blueprints to explore and validate ideas
* Working closely with engineers during implementation to ensure design intent is preserved
* Partnering with QA to ensure workflows are testable, robust, and aligned with real-world use
Success in this role is measured less by visual polish alone, and more by your ability to reduce cognitive load, clarify decision-making, and make complex workflows usable.
What we're looking for
* 2–5 years' experience as a Product Designer (or similar role)
* Experience designing non-trivial software systems with multiple user roles and constraints
* Strong systems thinking and ability to synthesise ambiguity into clear proposals
* Comfort working in constraint-heavy environments (clinical, regulatory, operational)
* A pragmatic mindset: prioritising clarity and effectiveness over novelty
* Proficiency with design tools such as Figma
* Clear communication and ability to collaborate closely with engineers and QA
Healthcare experience is a plus, but not required.
What stands out to us
We're not looking for pixel perfection or trend-driven design. We're looking for designers who can make complex workflows clear, safe, and usable. Designers who are comfortable shipping, learning, and iterating in constraint-heavy environments.
In practice, this looks like designers who:
* prioritise flows, states, and decision-making over surface polish
* are thoughtful about cognitive load, error states, and edge cases
* understand that "good enough to ship" is sometimes better than "perfect but blocking progress"
* can make and explain trade-offs between usability, engineering effort, and operational complexity
* work closely with engineers to move work forward rather than holding it up
This role values practical judgment, clarity of thinking, and iteration over aesthetic perfection.
What Makes This Special
Real Impact: Your code will be used in hospitals worldwide, directly improving patient care and clinical decision-making for epilepsy diagnosis.
Unique Experience: Gain invaluable exposure to medical device development, FDA approval processes, and regulated healthcare technology.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work alongside hardware teams, testers, and project managers in a multi-talented environment where quality and compliance are paramount.
Technical Growth: Build to the highest standards with emphasis on thorough testing, documentation, and regulatory compliance.
