The Opportunity
We’re looking for a strategic, commercially‑minded Account Director to lead a portfolio of ambitious consumer brands.
This role is for someone who thrives at the intersection of strategy, creativity and leadership.
You’ll be a trusted advisor to clients, a driver of earned‑first thinking, and a steady, empowering leader to the team around you.
You’ll work into IVY’s Group Account Director and closely with Co‑Managing Directors and BCM’s creative, digital and media specialists to deliver integrated campaigns that don’t just generate coverage, but solve real business challenges.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as a trusted senior advisor to clients, providing strategic counsel that supports broader business objectives
* Own and lead a portfolio of key accounts, ensuring longevity, growth and strong commercial performance
* Drive strategic and creative earned media thinking across your client mix
* Lead the development of integrated PR and social strategies in collaboration with senior leadership
* Confidently manage client expectations, anticipate challenges and proactively solve issues before they escalates
* Ensure KPIs are clearly defined, tracked and achieved
* Develop bold, culturally‑relevant earned media ideas for retained and new clients
* Oversee and drive end‑to‑end campaign execution across PR, influencer, social and experiential
* Lead pitching strategy to media and creators - and step in where required to meet campaign KPIs
* Oversee project management across events, activations and shoots, including third‑party suppliers and budgets
Commercial responsibility
* Take accountability for account profitability and scope management
* Develop detailed retainer scopes and project estimates for new and existing clients
* Manage project budgets in collaboration with the Group Account Director / Managing Director
Team leadership
* Lead and mentor Account Managers and Executives, supporting their development, prioritisation and growth
* Provide hands on direction and support to a best practice standard
* Delegate effectively while maintaining high standards of quality and strategic thinking
* Foster a positive, high‑performance team culture
* Work seamlessly with BCM’s creative, digital and media teams, ensuring strong briefs and clear lead times
Growth & new business
* Lead or contribute to new business proposals and presentations for IVY
* Identify organic growth opportunities within existing accounts
What We’re Looking For
* 7–10 years’ experience in a PR agency or equivalent environment
* Proven experience leading key accounts and managing senior client relationships
* Strong commercial acumen and confidence managing budgets and scopes
* Exceptional writing and editing skills across editorial and social formats
* Strategic thinker who can connect earned ideas to measurable business outcomes
* Calm, solutions‑focused leader who inspires trust internally and externally
* Deep interest in culture, media, creators and the evolving earned landscape
