About the roleWe are seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant, who is highly analytical with an ability to apply initiative in business situations.
You are motivated, and passionate about actively contributing to business objectives.You will be managed by the Finance Manager who will provide support and mentoring in this role.Your main responsibilitiesAssist and provide analysis in the preparation of high quality, timely financial reporting and balance sheets for the assigned Business UnitsAssist budgets preparation for the assigned Business Units; working with the department head and General Manager to ensure budgets reflect the business plansPrepare accurate reconciliations for all businesses/Divisions under your ownership, ensuring all back up documentation is correct and present.Month end close including accruals and pre-paymentsGrant accounting and government project accountingPreparation and submission of BAS and other ATO requirementsSkills and ExperienceTertiary qualifications in AccountingCA/CPA is highly desirablePrevious experience in a Financial and Accounting rolePower BI knowledge, advanced analytical and problem-solving skillsHighly organised, efficient with outstanding attention to detailExceptional communication and interpersonal and relationship management skillsProven experience in ERP (D365 experience is highly desirable but not essential)What's on OfferOption to salary package5 weeks annual leave + 17.5% leave loadingBased in Darwin office with free parkingCareer development opportunitiesAbout ALPAWe are the Arnhem Land Progress Aboriginal Corporation (ALPA).
