Job Title: Therapeutic Care Specialist
This role is key to guiding care teams and influencing therapeutic care for young people in out-of-home care. We provide tailored care plans and personalise living environments to meet the unique needs of each child, built around a philosophy of care, support, respect, and hope.
The successful candidate will work directly in regional Operations alongside leadership and front-line teams to support and guide the service in providing therapeutic care to young people informed by evidence-based practice and innovations in therapeutic, trauma-informed care.
Oversight of daily care for young people and influencing case planning are key responsibilities. The coordinator will remain current with best practice in trauma-informed care, legislative knowledge, and licensing process, applying this when advising on therapeutic strategies and behaviour support planning.
Engagement with internal and external stakeholders to advocate for meeting the therapeutic needs of young people is crucial. Promoting Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) and offering TCI training packages tailored to the needs of the area are also important aspects of this role.
Providing post-crisis support and facilitating case review functions at a local level to drive quality outcomes and therapeutic care for young people are other key responsibilities. Consulting on intakes and referrals, including risk assessments, is required.
About You
We're seeking someone with a genuine passion to make a difference in the lives of young people and our communities. A Bachelor's degree in psychology, Social Work, or related discipline, or Diploma of Community Services (or related discipline), and minimum 2 years relevant experience are essential.
