Overview

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Playground Inspection Officer to lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of a robust inspection program across all City play spaces and park assets. Working within the Citywide Mowing & Trades team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our playgrounds and parks remain safe, compliant and welcoming for the community. This position requires a strong commitment to safety, efficiency and sustainability, with the ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities
* Conduct regular inspections of playgrounds and parks infrastructure, ensuring compliance with safety standards and reporting findings to the Supervisor – Citywide Mowing & Trades.
* Collect and manage inspection data, maintaining accurate records within relevant systems.
* Generate and coordinate works arising from inspections with internal teams and contractors.
* Support contractor audits to ensure safety and quality of completed works.
* Undertake minor maintenance and repairs to play equipment, BMX/skate infrastructure, park furniture, fencing and related assets.
* Uphold Work Health and Safety requirements and prioritise the wellbeing of the community, colleagues and yourself.
Qualifications
* Trade qualification, or significant industry experience within the building trade or property maintenance
* Playground Safety Inspection Course: Level 1, or willingness to obtain for employment
* Safety Awareness Training Certificate (White Card)
* MR Class Motor Vehicle Licence
* Experience using a variety of hand and power tools
* Experience using Microsoft Office suite
* Ability to assess and implement compliant actions/repairs to damaged and or unserviceable equipment and other structures
* Good working knowledge of WHS practices and legislation
* A satisfactory National Police Certificate
* Good oral and written literacy, numeracy and technology skills
* High level of communication skills and the ability to liaise with a diverse range of internal and external customers
Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position will be from $81,965.77 - $85,506.50 per annum (includes loading), depending on the skills and experience of the successful applicant.
