We are currently seeking experienced and enthusiastic support workers to join our dedicated team in Forest Lake and surrounding suburbs to provide person centered care to our participants.
About the Role
Our participant requires a female support worker to provide assistance with community access, meal preparation and light domestic duties.
The participant is deaf and requires support staff competent in Auslan or deaf communication.
It is the participant's request for a support worker to share their interest in deaf community activities and possess knowledge of Auslan or basic sign language to engage with the participant.
Shift available: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9am – 2:00pm
About You
* Auslan experienced is highly desirable.
* Mental health experience is highly desirable
* Excellent verbal communication is a must.
* Reliable vehicle for community access
Must be available on Monday to Friday at 9:00am – 2:00pm
Your skills and experience
* Prior experience supporting clients with disabilities highly desirable
* Experience in BOC, mental health, positive behaviour
* Able to communicate and assist non-verbal clien
* Relevant nationally recognised qualification highly desirable
* Must have a QLD driver's licence and own reliable transport
* Current Paid employee Blue Card (or willing to obtain before employment)
* Current Paid employee Yellow Card/NDIS Worker Clearance (or willing to obtain before employment)
* Current First Aid & CPR (or willing to obtain before employment)
* NDIS 'Worker Orientation' module (or willing to obtain before employment)
* Full Australian working rights
* Smart phone with internet access
* Two current (within the past 2 years) professional references from a supervisor will be required
