Primary objective
To plan, deliver and assess high-quality Industry training programs to secondary school students in years 10 and above. The role ensures
all training and assessment activities comply with training package requirements, the Standards for RTOs, and organisational policies, while
maintaining a safe, engaging, and industry-relevant learning environment.
Context statement
Taminmin College is a large, comprehensive, and complex Independent Public School servicing the rural area of Darwin and catering for
students from Years 7–12. The College is registered with the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) as a Registered Training
Organisation (RTO 0855). As the largest school-based RTO in the Northern Territory, Taminmin College delivers an extensive range of
nationally accredited VET programs to Taminmin College students and external school students in Years 10–12.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Plan, deliver and assess high-quality Industry training programs to secondary school students in years 10 and above, ensuring all
training and assessment activities comply with training package requirements, the Standards for RTOs, and organisational policies,
while maintaining a safe, engaging, and industry-relevant learning environment.
1. Complete all Registered Training Organisation (RTO) quality and compliance tasks in a timely manner including training and assessment
strategies, student pre-enrolment, enrolment, learning/session plans, course preparation, student records and reports and assessment
delivery and documentation.
2. Develop and continuously review training and assessment tools and resources to support delivery of accredited competencies and
qualifications and participate in RTO validation processes.
3. Develop and maintain industry, local and community relationships that inform training, assessment, and effective delivery of VET
programs.
4. Respond to student training and wellbeing requirements, including where necessary the use of reasonable adjustments that meet the
national standards.
5. Attend professional development sessions to maintain current knowledge and practice of vocational training, learning and assessment,
including competency-based training and assessment and maintaining relevant industry skills.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or equivalent) or a demonstrated willingness to complete the upgrade
within an agreed timeframe.
2. Demonstrated, relevant and current industry experience and accredited industry qualifications sufficient to deliver:
* Certificate I and II Level Qualifications in any of the following industry sectors: Construction, Engineering, Automotive, Beauty
Services, Retail Services, Hospitality (Barista Course) or
* Certificate III level qualifications in either of the following industry sectors: Agriculture, Business
3. Proven experience in developing and delivering accredited VET programs that engage and meet the training and wellbeing needs of
secondary school students.
4. Highly developed oral communication and consultation skills with the ability to modify approaches to suit diverse learners and
stakeholders.
5. Ability to provide informed advice to, and partner with, schools and community stakeholders regarding the design, implementation,
and continuous improvement of nationally accredited VET programs within their specific industry area.
6. Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development and participation in industry engagement activities to ensure
compliance with national standards and maintenance of current industry knowledge and practice.

Relevant Certificate III qualification (as a minimum) in either Construction, Engineering, Automotive, Beauty, Agriculture, Business
