A leading Australian Government organisation is seeking three experienced Senior SAP Software Engineers (HR / Payroll) to join a high-performing enterprise systems team supporting a major SAP modernisation program. This is a fantastic opportunity for senior SAP HR specialists with strong S/4HANA functional expertise to contribute to a large-scale, business-critical transformation in a secure and highly complex environment.
The successful Senior SAP Software Engineers will be offered an initial 12-month contract with 2 x 12-month extension options, based in the ACT and working primarily onsite, with flexible arrangements considered in line with organisational policy.
The successful Senior SAP Software Engineers will be responsible for, but not limited to:
* Providing functional expertise across SAP HR and Payroll modules during an ECC6 to S/4HANA conversion
* Analysing existing SAP HR / Payroll configurations and assessing compatibility with S/4HANA architecture
* Supporting functional remediation and testing activities including system integration testing, payroll parallel runs and user acceptance testing
* Configuring and optimising SAP HR / Payroll modules to meet business processes and legislative requirements
* Working closely with technical teams to remediate custom objects impacting HR and payroll functionality
* Collaborating with HR, payroll and business stakeholders across a shared services environment
* Assisting with documentation of functional specifications, configuration designs and business process impacts
* Supporting data migration, validation and cutover activities during go-live
* Contributing to knowledge sharing, mentoring and uplift of internal SAP capability
The successful Senior SAP Software Engineers will have experience in:
* SAP S/4HANA HR / Payroll functional expertise, including configuration
* End-to-end payroll processing, employee lifecycle management and organisational management in SAP
* Supporting ECC6 to S/4HANA conversions or major SAP transformation programs
* Australian payroll legislation and public sector employment frameworks
* Working within shared services or multi-entity HR environments (highly desirable)
* Communicating complex system changes clearly to business users and senior stakeholders
