We are seeking a Payroll Lead to join their team in a key leadership role, overseeing a large and complex payroll function and partnering closely with HR, Finance and external providers to deliver accurate, compliant and high-quality payroll services. This role will suit a hands-on, technically strong payroll leader who enjoys leading teams, driving process improvement and operating in a fast-paced, operational environment. About the role Overseeing the payroll function for 1,000 team members across Australia and New Zealand, ensuring accurate and timely processing across weekly, fortnightly, and monthly pay cycles Ensuring compliance across all payroll activities, maintaining strong governance, audit readiness and adherence to legislation, enterprise agreements, and awards Act as the key escalation point for complex payroll matters while partnering with Site Leaders, HR, Finance, and external providers to deliver high-quality outcomes Oversee payroll managed service provider, ensuring compliance with SLAs and optimisation of relationships and processes Managing pay & time systems to align with legislation and enterprise agreements, ensuring data integrity and pay compliance Lead process and system optimisation, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and overall payroll experience Leading, mentoring and developing a payroll team of 3, within a customer-focused culture Act as a back-up for Payroll processing during team absences About You Proven experience managing end-to-end payroll for a large predominantly enterprise agreement covered workforce (ideally 700 employees) Deep understanding of Australian payroll legislation, including awards, EAs, superannuation and tax Experience managing and updating pay & time systems while partnering with internal systems teams and vendors Exposure to enterprise payroll and time & attendance systems, with strong systems and data capability A proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement and process optimisation Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and communicate across all levels Strong leadership experience with the ability to coach, develop and support payroll teams What’s on Offer Opportunity to step into a key leadership role with Orora Group Highly visible position partnering across HR, Finance and senior leadership Strong focus on systems, process improvement and transformation initiatives Collaborative and supportive team environment Competitive salary package on offer To apply online, please click on the appropriate link below.
