About the Role
An opportunity is available for a Site Engineer to join Ventia’s Environmental Services Remediation team, based in Townsville, QLD.
This is a site-based role supporting the delivery of a major environmental remediation project on Department of Defence bases.
Reporting to the Project Manager, you will assist with on-site engineering activities, coordination of subcontractors and suppliers, and ensure works are delivered safely, on time and to specification.
This role operates Monday to Friday, with every second Saturday worked (generally a half-day). Saturday requirements will be monitored and adjusted as the project progresses.
Key Responsibilities
* Support on‑site engineering and construction activities
* Manage allocated engineering work packages
* Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers
* Assist with quality, safety and environmental documentation
* Monitor works to ensure compliance with specifications
* Contribute to project reporting and cost control

About You
* Bachelor of Engineering (Civil, Environmental or similar)
* 1+ years site‑based engineering experience (graduates encouraged)
* Comfortable working on active construction sites
* Strong communication and organisational skills
* Proficient in Microsoft Office
* Safety‑focused and proactive
Security & Site Requirements
* Australian Citizenship (mandatory)
* Eligibility to obtain a Defence Common Access Card (DCAC)
* Clean AFP Police Check
* Current Australian Driver’s Licence
* Ability to pass a pre‑employment medical
