JR Richards & Sons are an Australian family-owned and operated resource recovery company contracting to over thirty local Councils across large regional areas of NSW and in northern Victoria. The Company employs over 600 people with a fleet in excess of 350 heavy vehicles in operation. The Opportunity


Utilise your management experience and knowledge in the heavy vehicle industry to ensure safe management and optimal operation of our Rutherford workshop.

This role is responsible for daily operations of the workshop and is the custodian of all vehicles under its control, ensuring that all vehicles are maintained to the highest standard. Maintenance must adhere to all compliance/ company policies, relevant legislation, manufacturer's warranties and guidelines.


Duties include

* Lead and manage team fostering a productive and positive work environment;
* Coordinate staff training, rosters, manage underperformance and disciplinary matters in conjunction with HR and senior management;
* Manage workshop financials and administrative functions;
* Monitor results and meet KPI's;
* Conduct quality checks and routine vehicle service requirements;
* Manage tools, parts, and consumable stock;
* Provide technical support to the branch manager and coordinate major jobs in consultation with operational staff to minimise disruption to service provision.


Essential Requirements

* Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent;
* NSW Trade Licence;
* Diagnostic ability and skillset to complete required repairs;
* Self-motivated and solutions focused;
* Minimum Class C Licence and/or willing to obtain a HR Licence.

Previous management experience in heavy vehicle/ truck/ diesel industry, accompanied by knowledge of waste industry will be highly regarded but not essential.
