About the role
As Maintenance Supervisor at Vibe Hotel Adelaide, you should demonstrate enthusiasm and flair for providing exemplary guest service by embracing the “Go MAD” philosophy. You will manage all processes within the maintenance and engineering department, including preventative maintenance scheduling and expenditure planning. The property has 187 rooms and a large floor plan; this role is hands-on, independent, and requires tools and proactive engagement.
Key responsibilities include:
Responding to guest repair requests and acknowledging all guests according to company standards.
Understanding and operating advanced electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and boiler systems.
Communicating effectively with different stakeholders to understand needs and provide assistance.
Checking for new maintenance requests via the PMS and updating remarks upon completion.
Updating maintenance work order forms and filing them appropriately.
Interpreting readings from meters, gauges, and other measurement units.
Working under pressure and exercising good judgment.
Performing maintenance in hotel public areas, including plumbing, electrical repairs, and cosmetic fixes.
Managing housekeeping and engineering inventory duties independently.
Analyzing problems, identifying solutions, and implementing high-quality repairs as an independent mechanic.
Being available for emergencies to protect guests and staff and to preserve building systems.
Repairing walls, maintaining pools and gardens, managing plant rooms, and dealing with subcontractors. Plumbing experience is a plus.
This role may require being on call.
Candidate requirements:
Minimum 1-2 years of experience, preferably in building management (e.g., aged care), not necessarily hotel-specific.
Experience maintaining gardens and pools; pool operator certification is preferred.
Relevant Industry Trade Qualification.
Occupational Health & Safety qualifications/skills.
Testing & tagging licenses are advantageous but not essential.
