Scrub Scout
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Scrub Scout to join our Operating Theatre team on a permanent basis. This role is essential in ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality perioperative care across a range of surgical specialties. You will work closely with surgeons, anaesthetists, and the wider perioperative team in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform scrub and scout duties in accordance with best practice and infection control standards
* Prepare operating theatres, instruments, and equipment for surgical procedures
* Anticipate surgical team needs and provide appropriate instruments and supplies
* Maintain accurate surgical counts and documentation
* Ensure patient safety, dignity, and comfort at all times
* Participate in theatre cleaning and restocking between cases
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse
* AHPRA
* Recent experience as a Scrub Scout in an operating theatre
* Sound knowledge of aseptic technique and infection control principles
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Ability to work effectively under pressure
* Experience across multiple surgical specialties
* Flexibility to work rotating shifts or on-call rosters
