The role supports advancing nursing practice through education and mentorship in a rural healthcare setting across the Southern NSW Local Health District.
What You'll Be Doing
Provide clinical training at ward/unit level by formulating and delivering in-service educational programs; assess and demonstrate clinical procedures.
Foster a preceptor/mentor role to support less experienced staff and enhance clinical skills to achieve people-focused quality care.
Develop, deliver and evaluate education and learning activities to meet individual learning needs using adult learning principles and current best practice models.
Utilise effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills; use computer software to develop and deliver education.
Selection Criteria
Current Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse.
Relevant post-registration clinical or education qualifications and/or current Certificate as a Workplace Trainer and Assessor or willingness to work towards certification.
Minimum of 3 years' experience in the relevant clinical/specialty field with knowledge of competency/skills requirements for staff to achieve quality clinical care.
Demonstrated experience as a preceptor/mentor with ability to use contemporary education and teaching methods to develop and motivate staff toward a learning culture.
Ability to develop, deliver and evaluate education and learning activities for individual learning needs using adult learning principles.
Effective interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication, advanced computer skills, and experience with software for education delivery.
Commitment to ongoing professional development and maintaining competence as a workplace trainer and assessor.
Current unrestricted driver's licence and willingness/ability to travel as required (may involve long distances).
