Collectively, we make the impossible possible.Recognised for delivering projects of global and national significance that help keep Australia safe, it is our shared passion that shapes our culture, and our people that make it a great place to work.About the OPPORTUNITYWe have a great opportunity for a Technical Support Officer to join our JORN (Jindalee Operational Radar Network) Line of Business based at SA-RAAF Edinburgh.Reporting to the Battlespace Surveillance Centre Maintenance Lead, you will be responsible for ensuring the operational availability of ICT and engineering systems in support of the RAAF surveillance capabilities.The role involves working across a shift pattern that includes days and evenings.Key responsibilities include:Support ICT and technical systems to maintain the Jindalee Operational Radar Network (JORN) and other relevant surveillance systemsPerform basic network administration functions using the Red Hat operating systemAssist in system fault-finding, managing faults, and liaising between customers, field technicians, and engineering teamsPerform inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure ICT system availability, emergency backup power, and cooling systemsDocument faults and maintenance activities according to engineering proceduresSupport engineering activitiesMonitor system health and performancePrepare and update fault reports and documentation on outages and system limitationsMaintain knowledge of proprietary products used in surveillance systemsInvestigate deficiencies and defects within the operational support areaFulfil all requirements of an Authorised Tradesperson under the SMC structureAbout YOUCertificate IV or higher, or relevant experience in Electronics, Telecommunications, or Information TechnologyExperience in Radar, Telecoms, Electronics, IT Networking, and Systems AdministrationExperience working in a customer-focused IT team with minimal supervisionExperience administering Red Hat Linux operating systemsNetwork troubleshooting experience, including switching and routingExperience with RF or radar systemsDefense security clearance or eligibility to obtainEligibility for ITAR regulations clearanceWe encourage applicants who do not meet all criteria to still apply, as we hire for potential.About USYou will join a workplace that cares about your wellbeing.
