Join an Organisation dedicated to Closing the Gap in Indigenous Health. The Institute for Urban Indigenous Health Ltd (IUIH) provides coordinated primary health care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations across Southeast Queensland. The Regional and Specialist Services Team, established in 2024, offers culturally safe and integrated specialist, allied health, and primary health care support. As a first point of contact, the Welcome Officer ensures smooth patient flow and provides a welcoming environment.
Responsibilities
* Attend to the comfort and information needs of clients in the waiting room.
* Meet and greet clients and guide them to their Pod / Consult room or warm handover space if needed.
* Collect essential data and explain HWW role and Pod system.
* Screen for infectious or acute conditions (e.g. Covid, flu, heart conditions), provide sanitizer/PPE, instructions or elevate for treatment as needed.
* Arrange clinic-to-home (or other service) transport when necessary.
* Assist with reception and admin duties as required.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Current C Class Drivers Licence (QLD).
* Current Criminal History Check.
* Current Working with Children's Check (QLD Blue Card).
* Current CPR Certificate.
* Heritage: must be an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person (genuine occupational requirement under section 25 of the Anti‐Discrimination Act 1991).
* Desirable: Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and / or communities.
