Telecommunications Technician / Lineworker
Salary: $77,000 + Superannuation
We're looking for reliable, skilled Telecommunications Technicians / Lineworkers to join our growing team at Auslink Connect Pty Ltd, supporting NBN, Telstra, and civil network projects across metropolitan and regional Victoria.
Auslink Connect Pty Ltd is a Victorian-owned telecommunications company delivering high-quality network and infrastructure solutions. Our projects include NBN and Telstra network builds, fibre optic installations, and telecommunications maintenance for residential and commercial clients.
About the Role
This position involves hands-on field work installing, maintaining, and upgrading telecommunications infrastructure in line with national and industry standards. The successful applicant will have practical experience with fibre, copper, and HFC systems, along with a solid understanding of civil construction elements within telecommunications network builds. You should feel confident working independently, leading small teams, or contributing as part of a larger project crew.
Key Responsibilities
* Install, splice, and test fibre optic and copper cables in accordance with NBN and client specifications.
* Carry out civil telecommunications works including pit and pipe installation, trenching, concreting, cutting, and reinstatement.
* Perform road cutting and reinstatement activities following VicRoads standards.
* Operate heavy machinery such as excavators, vacuum trucks, HR vehicles, and other plant.
* Undertake fault-finding, network testing, and system maintenance using OTDR and related test equipment.
* Install and maintain CCTV systems and associated network cabling.
* Maintain full compliance with WHS regulations and company safety procedures.
Skills and Experience
* Minimum 2–3 years experience in telecommunications installation, maintenance, or civil construction.
* Experience working on NBN or Telstra network projects (highly regarded).
* Competence operating excavation or NDD equipment.
* HR Driver Licence (essential).
* Asbestos removal licence and Telstra network induction (desirable).
* Ability to interpret network drawings and complete accurate as-built documentation.
* Strong attention to detail with a proven commitment to safe work practices.
Qualifications
* Certificate III or IV in Telecommunications Technology, or an equivalent industry qualification.
