Nurse Educator Role
We are seeking a Registered Nurse with strong clinical expertise and a flair for education to join our team as a Nurse Educator.
The successful candidate will design and deliver engaging education programs, mentor staff, and ensure best practice in clinical care and compliance.
This role requires leadership in clinical education, training, and professional development, ensuring staff possess the knowledge, skills, and competencies necessary to provide safe, person-centred, and evidence-based care.
The ideal candidate will have relevant post-graduate qualifications in education, gerontology, dementia care, or leadership, and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment would be highly regarded.
Key Responsibilities
* Clinical Education: Assess training needs and develop competency-based education programs for Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses, Carers, Support Workers, and Allied Health staff.
* Training Delivery: Provide training in key clinical risk areas, including handover, medication safety, infection prevention, falls prevention, pressure injury prevention, dementia care, incident management, and palliative care.
* Mentorship: Facilitate induction training for new staff and ongoing professional development for existing staff.
* Assessment and Evaluation: Support ongoing competency assessments and skill reviews to maintain workforce capability.
* Documentation: Educate and coach staff on accurate, timely, and person-centred clinical documentation.
* Funding Compliance: Ensure staff understand how to record information that supports AN-ACC funding and reflects the true care needs of residents and clients.
* Quality Improvement: Support quality improvement initiatives by identifying training needs through audits, incident reviews, and feedback.
Requirements
* Registration: Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
* Qualifications: Relevant post-graduate qualifications in education, gerontology, dementia care, or leadership.
* Certificate: Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
