The Role
Reporting to the COO, the Head of Supply Chain will take full ownership of the end‐to‐end supply‐chain and inventory function, bringing together purchasing, materials control, warehousing, and production planning into a cohesive and high‐performing structure. Leading a team of 8‐10, this role is highly operational and requires a visible, hands‐on leadership style. You will be responsible for ensuring material availability aligns with production schedules, improving inventory accuracy, driving cost efficiencies, and strengthening supplier performance across both local and international markets.Operating in a fast‐paced, made‐to‐order manufacturing environment, you will play a critical role in balancing competing priorities, making timely decisions, and supporting the business in reducing lead times while maintaining quality and service standards. A key focus will be driving consistency and alignment across multiple sites, embedding best practices in inventory management, procurement, and warehouse operations.You will also take ownership of supplier strategy and commercial outcomes, leading negotiations, managing risk, and making key "make vs buy" decisions. The role will work closely with manufacturing, engineering, and finance teams to ensure supply‐chain supports both operational delivery and broader business objectives.With systems still evolving, there is a strong opportunity to drive improvements in ERP utilisation, data visibility, and planning processes, while embedding lean principles across the function.
Key Skills
* Proven leadership experience across end‐to‐end supply chain in manufacturing
* Strong background in procurement, supplier management, and cost control
* Essential experience or understanding of metal fabrication, machining, or similar manufacturing processes
* Demonstrated ability to lead warehousing, inventory, and materials planning functions
* Strong commercial acumen with experience in "make vs buy" decision making
* Experience working across multi‐site operations
* Solid ERP experience (SAP or similar) with ability to improve systems and processes
* Hands‐on leadership style with the ability to drive change and influence stakeholders
* Strong problem‐solving skills and ability to operate effectively in fast‐paced, ambiguous environments
