This is a Band 2 position on the City of Kwinana's structured remuneration.
What's On Offer
The City of Kwinana is seeking passionate and driven Circularity Engagement Officers to join the Environment and Waste Team on a casual basis.
You will need knowledge of or passion for waste management, community behaviour change and strong inter-personal skills to interact with members of the public.
Reporting to the Circularity Lead, the officer's responsibilities include conducting manual audits of waste streams, gathering quantitative and qualitative data, elevating community awareness about recycling and resource recovery, and participating in events and programs aligned with the City's Waste Education Plan and Strategic Community Plan.
Hours and Availability
Your hours may vary and will be based on operational requirements; you may also be required to work on weekends for events.
What You'll Need
Essential
Work shifts of a minimum of two hours on weekdays, plus weekend events when required.
Over 18 years of age with the ability to work in Australia (passport or appropriate work visa).
Reasonable fitness level, able to walk/stand for three hours.
Mobile phone.
Current Motor Vehicle Driver's Licence and access to a car (mileage will be paid).
Current Police Clearance.
Desirable
Previous experience in waste, sustainability, or environmental management.
Experience or interest in textile, sewing, mending, upcycling or clothing repair within a community or sustainability context.
Ability to explain activity to members of the public.
Current knowledge of recycling rules.
Data entry experience.
Community engagement experience.
A passion for waste and sustainability.
Multilingual capability, especially Tagalog, Punjabi, Filipino, Mandarin, Hindi.
Public speaking skills.
