Your New Role
This vacancy sits within a division of the Department of Justice where you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive administrative support services. Your key responsibilities include managing requests for legal advice, researching files and other materials, and providing high-level client service to senior government officials, statutory office holders, Ministerial Offices, external organisations, and the general public.
You will also provide executive support including document production, travel arrangements, coordination of meetings and conferences, and telephone screening. Additionally, you will manage your workload, including preparation of files and background material, and act as the first point of contact exercising initiative in undertaking liaison and dealing with enquiries in the absence of the Minister by referring them to appropriate officers.
What You'll Need to Succeed
* Significant experience in performing high-level administrative tasks and well-developed organisational, research and office management skills.
* Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of State Government and Ministerial offices.
* Experience in exercising initiative, judgement, discretion, confidentiality, problem-solving and decision-making skills at this level of responsibility to work within a senior legal environment together with high-level organisation skills and self-motivation with the ability to work individually without direct supervision.
* Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills together with the ability to communicate clearly with diplomacy at all levels, obtain cooperation and assistance in handling confidential matters, and work as an effective member of a small team.
