About the Role
As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing initiatives that support the strategic plans of our sewerage services. This includes leading activities related to enterprise goals, building relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and identifying opportunities for future capital assets and operational activities.
* You will lead holistic planning for Melbourne Water's wholesale sewerage services, including recycled water and integration with metropolitan water company sewerage services.
* You will build and manage internal and external relationships related to sewerage services, drive effective collaboration, and ensure the team is well positioned to positively influence activities that impact delivery of obligations and achievement of strategic objectives.
* You will identify, investigate, evaluate, and support development of business cases for potential future capital assets, operational activities, planning controls, and other initiatives that could contribute to managing the sewerage service.
* You will provide clear, evidence-based advice to internal and external stakeholders in relation to the sewerage service.
* You will maintain a sound understanding of trends in local and international sewerage system, sewage treatment practices regulation and policy to inform medium - long term plans.
* You will manage external service providers, technical consultants, and contractors.
About You
You will have a relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering or equivalent. You will have a strong understanding of strategy development and long-term planning, as well as a strong knowledge of sewerage systems and sewage treatment.
* You will have significant experience fostering cross-organisation and cross-industry collaboration for sewerage/recycled water initiatives.
* You will have expertise in developing and implementing initiatives, strategies, and plans, as well as expertise and technical leadership skills in sewerage services, especially in recycled water, energy, and decarbonisation.
* You will be able to confidently, professionally, and persuasively communicate detailed technical information to a range of audiences including senior executive and board level stakeholders, in both written and oral formats.
* A current VIC drivers licence is required.
