Job Overview:
The Waste Depot Attendant is a pivotal role within the Waste Services team, working in harmony with the community to ensure safe and efficient waste management practices.
This position involves operating on a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays. Successful candidates will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, maintaining site cleanliness and safety, and adhering to regulatory guidelines and environmental standards.
Key responsibilities include operating the weighbridge, plant equipment, and inspecting loads while accurately recording data through the WasteMan system. A current Class C Driver Licence, strong communication skills, commitment to safety, basic computer proficiency, positive attitude, and flexibility are essential requirements for this role.
Daily Tasks:
1. Record transactions and waste data using WasteMan software
2. Inspect and direct loads for correct disposal and compliance with site regulations
3. Operate and maintain plant and equipment at the transfer station
4. Monitor and manage transfer bins, green waste, scrap metal, and recyclables
5. Maintain a clean, safe, and well-presented site for staff and community users
6. Conduct regular inspections and maintain accurate records in accordance with the Operational Environmental Management Plan (OEMP)
7. Provide informative advice on waste disposal to customers
