CA33 Field Service Representative

* Length of Contract: 7 months

Key Responsibilities:
* As part of a small team, provide on-site support at major Defence establishments and Field Training Areas Australia wide for activities including:
* Equipment support – Diagnose hardware and software faults using system knowledge and technical documentation in order to implement effective corrective actions including the setup, configure, test and troubleshoot end-to-end system network connectivity in both physical and virtual instances
* Equipment installation, commissioning, and configuration of the
* IBMS, including bearers, hardware and associated software applications Support field upgrades to both hardware and software components of the IBMS, including system integration testing, and acceptance trails as required.
* Training and Exercise support including travel to user locations to deliver on-site training and support
* Liaise with engineering teams to report defect, recommend design improvements and contribute to continuous product enhancements.
* Ensure compliance with safety, security, probity, and technical
* standards as per CASG and Defence policies and procedures.
* As part of a small team, provide Level 2 Help desk support via Phone and Email including:
* Logging and updating tickets via JIRA
* Conducting fault diagnosis, troubleshooting and escalation
Required Experience:
* Demonstrated experience in diagnosing and resolving network, signal and interface issues
* Demonstrated understanding of Australian Defence Force (ADF) Command,
* Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence (C4I) systems including concepts and functions
* Demonstrated understanding of network topologies, routing, virtualization and server/client configurations
* Demonstrated understanding of in-service Tactical Communications
* Network (TCN) equipment including planning, operation and maintenance
* Demonstrated ability to work autonomously to achieve project requirements
* Willingness to travel frequently and work in variable field environments
Qualifications and Experience:
* Experience with tactical Command and Control (C2) applications.
* Experience with Integrated Battlefield Telecommunications Network (IBTN) equipment.
* Experience with in-service TCN bearers.
* Experience with the Mission Partner Environment (MPE).
* Relevant tertiary or industry certifications with experience working on virtual and physical networks encompassing Windows, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), and Cisco.
* Understanding of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) fundamentals or other Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) frameworks.
* Strong technical aptitude in both hardware and software aspects of the IBMS.
* Attainment of Army Technical Trade qualification ECN661 (Information
* Systems Engineering), ECN662 (Battlespace Communication Specialist), or
* ECN665 (Telecommunications Network Engineer) or equivalent RAAF or RAN trade qualification.
Required Attributes:
* Excellent problem solving and organisational abilities with a focus on system reliability and uptime.
* Strong interpersonal skills for Unit liaison, training, and multi-disciplinary teamwork.
* Relationship management with good verbal skills to enunciate networking processes required to the end user onsite along with clarifying expectation of the task.
* Flexibility to be able to rapidly and efficiently adapt to the required task in the right priority order.
* Advocacy and Enablement to be able to support CA33 at a high level with programmatic oversight and assist with keeping FSR team members on task.
