We're expanding our capability into education, health, aged care, defence and community, while continuing to deliver the high-quality commercial projects we're known for.
That means you’ll get real variety, strong support, and the chance to build practical construction experience on sites across Canberra.
You'll play a key role in:
* Building practical experience across construction management, helping us win work and deliver it from tender to handover, with a clear pathway into a permanent role.
* Learning side-by-side with experienced mentors while you build real skills in project management, supporting project and site teams with day-to-day coordination across live projects.
* Contributing to projects that help build the infrastructure that supports Australia’s capital and its community, as part of our Canberra team delivering fit out, refurbishment and new build work across key sectors.
What You'll Bring:
* No prior industry experience required, just a great attitude and willingness to learn.
* Ability to work a minimum of 3 days per week alongside your studies (flexible around exams and uni breaks).
* Currently studying or recently graduated from a construction-related degree (such as construction management, engineering and architecture).
* Australian or New Zealand citizenship or Australian Permanent Residency at the time of application.

What to expect when you apply
* Once you submit your CV, the team will review your application.
* Applicants who meet our selection criteria will be invited to complete an online assessment, which includes a combination of short questions and video responses to help us learn more about your thinking and communication style.
* Successful candidates will be invited to attend an initial individual interview with members of the SHAPE team.
* Shortlisted candidates will then progress to a final interview to further explore your experience, interests and potential fit with the SHAPE Cadet Program.
* If you are successful, you will receive an offer to join the SHAPE team as a Building Cadet with a start date of either 25th May or 6th July 2026. Congratulations!
