Position Summary
The Bartender will be part of a team dedicated to providing the highest standard of service, creating memorable drinking experiences for guests and maintaining the ambiance of the bar.
McRae Bar
McRae Bar, named in honour of George McRae, overlooks Loftus Street and offers an elegant cocktail experience with late 1800's touches that celebrates the first golden age of fine drinking through a contemporary Australian lens.
The Role
* Create and serve a diverse range of expertly crafted cocktails using premium ingredients and precise techniques.
* Stay updated on industry trends, new spirits, and innovative mixology techniques to continually enhance the bar menu.
* Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and contribute to the development of new beverage offerings.
* Be attentive and anticipate guests' service needs, including creating connections to understand their preferences in order to provide personalized service.
* Be knowledgeable of beverage items on the menu and have the ability to recommend menu combinations and upsell alternatives.
* Assist other colleagues to ensure proper coverage and prompt guest service.
* Recognize the importance of Forbes standards to deliver excellent service performance.
* Ensure any guest's feedback and complaints are communicated promptly to management.
* Maintain cleanliness of work areas throughout the day, practicing clean-as-you-go procedures.
* Be knowledgeable of and follow appropriate procedures for serving alcohol.
* Perform closing duties, including storing all reusable goods, breaking down goods, cleaning all equipment and areas, returning equipment to proper locations, locking refrigerators, restocking items, turning off lights, locking doors, and completing daily cleaning checklist.

* Strong knowledge of beverage & cocktail preparation techniques and recipes.
* Ability to work efficiently in a fast‐paced environment and multitask effectively.
* Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and cleanliness.
* Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
* Good command of written and spoken English.
* Valid working rights in Australia.
