Find Meaningful Work as an Employment Coach Specialist

We have a unique opportunity for you to make a genuine impact in the lives of customers with a prior offender history. As an Employment Coach Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting an allocated caseload and finding them employment.

This role focuses on improving customers' capacity to work by addressing non-vocational issues and building vocational skills and experience. You will promote your customers through advocacy to employers and run group-based sessions to motivate and improve confidence amongst your caseload.

You will need to demonstrate an understanding of vocational and other barriers that impact people's ability to gain employment. A passion and drive for helping people find employment is also essential. Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to develop positive relationships with a diverse range of customers, employers, and staff are crucial.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in the employment services, Justice, or similar field. A minimum Certificate IV in Employment Services or Career Development is also required, or the willingness to study. Experience in Employment Services or a related Service industry is highly valued.

To succeed in this role, you will need to assess, match, and refer customers to appropriate job opportunities and advocate directly to employers. Strong administration skills and IT literacy, data entry, and typing skills are necessary. Attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure are also essential.

The application process involves obtaining a National Police Clearance and Working Rights Check, which will be provided at no cost to the successful candidate.

We welcome applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, applicants from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, and applicants who have a disability. We deliver a range of employment and community services and are committed to creating a safe environment for children and young people.

We believe in empowering our customers to achieve their goals and live fulfilling lives. If you share our values and have the necessary skills and experience, we encourage you to apply for this rewarding role.
