**Job Summary**
The Facilities Officer (Groundsperson) is a critical role that requires an individual with relevant experience and a commitment to the ethos of Catholic Education. This position involves performing daily grounds and maintenance tasks, including minor repairs and maintenance of school buildings and surroundings, gardening, and beautification.
**Responsibilities**
* Securing grounds and equipment to ensure the school's safety
* Mowing, trimming, and fertilizing lawns and turf areas
* Repairing and maintaining irrigation systems
* Weeding, planting, and fertilizing gardens
* Cleaning outdoor areas using high-pressure water cleaners
* Identifying and assisting with minor building maintenance, such as touch-up painting and other minor repairs
* Assembling, moving, and relocating furniture
* Assisting with setting up spaces for school events
* Gardening and general caretaking of school buildings and gardens
* Working with other grounds staff as required
* Rubbish and waste management
* Collaborating with contractors to oversee major repairs and maintenance
**Requirements**
* A current valid Blue Card under the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000 and a valid Suitability Notice are mandatory requirements
* The ability to perform the physical demands of the role in a safe manner
