WHO WE ARE St Agnes’ Catholic Parish is a not-for-profit organisation that has been serving the Port Macquarie community since 1878, offering compassionate support to people of all ages and life stages.
With over 800 staff across a range of ministries, including aged care, community and family, education and training, and ministry and pastoral, the Parish works to support the dignity, wellbeing and needs of the community.
ABOUT THE ROLEThe Communications and Community Engagement Coordinator connects and engages external audiences, including prospective clients, employees, donors, partners, and the wider community, through content and experiences that reflect the Parish’s values and services.
In this role, you will create compelling content, build meaningful relationships, and represent the Parish across a range of platforms and events. From storytelling and campaigns to media engagement and community partnerships, you will play a key role in shaping how people experience and engage with St Agnes’ Catholic Parish.
Working closely with the Communications and Marketing team, as well as broader operational teams, you will ensure messaging is consistent, engaging, and aligned with our mission, while supporting growth across aged care, education, and community services, as well as contributing to recruitment, fundraising, and maintaining the Parish’s reputation. KEY RESPONSIBILTIESStorytelling and content creationCapture and share meaningful stories from clients, staff, and communityCreate engaging written, visual and multimedia contentSupport campaigns and initiatives through strategic content planningEnsure all content reflects our values, mission, and brand
Community engagement and representationRepresent the Parish at events, forums, and community initiativesBuild strong relationships with local organisations and stakeholdersIdentify opportunities to grow community presence and partnershipsFacilitate engagement activities including workshops and meetings
Brand and media engagementDevelop media releases, stories, and executive communicationsLiaise with media and respond to enquiriesSupport reputation management and positive media coverageAssist with crisis communications when required
Audience engagement and influenceStrengthen relationships with media and key stakeholdersSupport leadership with clear, timely and empathetic messagingContribute to strategies that enhance visibility and engagement

WHO YOU ARETertiary qualifications in communications, digital marketing, public relations, journalism or related field (desirable)3–5 years’ experience in communications, marketing or public relationsProven experience creating and delivering engaging content across multiple channelsStrong ability to identify, develop and communicate meaningful and compelling storiesExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear, accessible contentExperience creating SEO-optimised content for websites, email campaigns, and social mediaProven ability to use marketing automation tools and CRM systems (e.g., Dynamics 365) to deliver targeted contentExperience engaging with media to secure coverage and support brand reputationStrong organisational skills, able to manage competing deadlines and prioritiesProficient in CMS platforms (e.g., Wordpress) and analytics toolsHigh-level interpersonal skills to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levelsProactive, professional, and solution-oriented with strong attention to detailDiscretion in handling confidential and sensitive information HOW TO APPLYClick ‘Apply’ immediately if interested.
