Postdoctoral Fellow, Quality Use of Medicines (QUM)
This postdoctoral fellowship is based at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) in Kensington, Sydney. The position is a full-time, 2-year fixed-term role with the possibility of extension, subject to funding. The salary package ranges from $91,000 to $121,000 base, plus 17% superannuation and leave loading.
Work rights required : Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Candidates must hold full rights to work in Australia to be considered for this position.
Overview
UNSW Medicine & Health is a world-leading faculty with strong partnerships across Australia's premier hospitals, research institutes and healthcare organisations. The role will be based at the new state-of-the-art Health Translation Hub working with academics across the School of Health Sciences, School of Clinical Medicine and the National Drug and Alcohol Research Centre. Join a nationally recognised research team focused on improving the Quality Use of Medicines (QUM) and contribute to impactful health outcomes across clinical, academic and policy sectors.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct and coordinate research activities to high scientific and ethical standards.
Contribute to the development of research questions and study designs.
Undertake literature reviews and data analysis using qualitative and / or quantitative methods.
Prepare peer-reviewed publications, reports and conference presentations.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and engage with stakeholders.
Assist in preparing research grant proposals and ethics submissions.
Support knowledge translation and dissemination of findings.
Skills and Experience
A PhD in pharmacy, medicine, nursing, public health or a related discipline.
Experience conducting systematic reviews and health-related research using qualitative and / or quantitative methods.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including academic writing.
Proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., NVivo, SPSS, SAS, Stata).
Understanding of ethical and governance requirements in health research.
Experience contributing to research funding applications.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic research environment.
