What you'll be doing at Kestral:
We are seeking a Cyber Security Analyst to join our team. This role is critical in ensuring the security and integrity of our systems and data. You will work closely with our teams to monitor, identify, and respond to potential threats, while supporting compliance and security best practices.
Key Responsibilities
* Monitor network and system activity for anomalies and potential threats
* Assist in triaging and responding to security incidents
* Conduct routine vulnerability scans and assist in remediation
* Support patch management processes
* Help maintain secure user access and privilege management
* Assist in compliance and documentation of security processes
* Collaborate with IT teams and provide basic security awareness support
What We’re Looking For
* Education & Experience:
o IT degree in Cyber Security or Computer Science (major in Cyber Security)
o Knowledge of networking fundamentals, operating systems (Windows/Linux), and security principles
o Familiarity with firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection systems, and endpoint protection
o Understanding of Australian health data privacy requirements and ISO27001 framework
* Skills & Characteristics:
o Self-motivated, resourceful, with a strong work ethic.
o High attention to detail and accuracy
o Logical, analytical, and creative approach to problem-solving
o Excellent organizational and time management skills
o Strong written and oral communication skills
