About this Position
We are pleased to offer an opportunity for a committed and experienced professional to join Council as a Senior Regulatory Services Officer within the Economy, Planning and Environment Directorate.
Reporting to the Regulatory Services Lead, this role is responsible for delivering a high level of specialist Environmental Health and Public Health advice to Council and the community, ensuring services are provided in accordance with legislative, policy and regulatory requirements. The position also supports the day‐to‐day supervision and operational coordination of the Regulatory Services team, providing mentoring, technical guidance and leadership support.
As a key member of a multi‐skilled team, the Senior Regulatory Services Officer works closely with internal and external stakeholders to support sustainable development outcomes and positive community health impacts. The role also provides relief for the Regulatory Services Lead during periods of leave and may assist the Development Standards team or other areas of the organisation as required, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic regulatory environment.

* Work collaboratively with the Regulatory Services Lead to support the effective delivery of Council's Environmental Health and Public Health responsibilities in line with strategic and operational priorities.
* Contribute to the development and application of contemporary environmental management approaches that promote best practice and regulatory compliance.
* Ensure statutory reporting and regulatory obligations are met accurately and within required timeframes.
* Support a collaborative, team‐based approach to service delivery that enhances community outcomes and maintains positive team culture.
* Assist in developing, reviewing and applying policies and procedures that protect public health, workplace safety and environmental values.
* Undertake regulatory investigations and assessments, including enforcement matters and development applications, providing clear, informed and balanced technical advice.
* Provide leadership support through mentoring, project delivery and relief for the Regulatory Services Lead, helping to minimise risk and support effective decision‐making across the team.
What you will need to be successful
* Possession of a Degree in Environmental Health, Public Health or equivalent together with relevant work experience.
* Eligibility for membership within the Australian Institute of Environmental Health.
* WorkCover Construction Induction Certificate (white card).
* Possession of a current driver's licence.
