We are looking for an experienced Speech Pathologist to join the Rural Allied Health (RAHT) team in a large hospital and health service, 2 hours from Melbourne.
Grade 2 or 3 level role. Locum, contract or permanent. 2 hours from Melbourne.
Ideally you will be an experienced clinician who is able to confidently carry a caseload and offer support to the junior OTs on the team. Ideally to start in March/April. Accommodation provided for the duration of the contract.
Options for contracts include:
* Permanent Grade 2 or 3
* Locum - at least 4 months with an opportunity to extend
* Fixed term contract - 6+ months (employed directly with service)
Caseload:
* Working with the frail aged and people with a disability to maximise independence at home.
* Working with clients, carers and families to provide practical solutions to promote independence and safety at home.
* Developing goals and care plans to assist clients to remain at home and active in their local community.
* Collaborating with other clinicians in the RAHT team to offer holistic care to clients referred.
* Working with a diverse range of clients and health conditions.
* Working across funding streams such as HACC PYP, CHSP & possibly the NDIS (minimal, if any).
* Opportunity to work with Allied Health Assistants to undertake client care programs and equipment trials.
* Primarily home based work with some opportunity for clinic appointments.
Ideally you will have experience with:
* Adult dysphagia management
* Videofluroscopies (VFSS)
* Augmentative and alternative communication (AAC)
* Community experience
* Experience with range of health conditions incl. progressive neurological disorders
