Role Overview:
The Logistics Area Manager Cement is responsible for overseeing the Victorian Cement Logistics Operations for Boral Cement. This role involves managing fleet safety, efficiency, and effectiveness, focusing on employee drivers and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery of cement products to customers.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Leading Depot staff to safely manage their fleet and develop people skills such as succession planning, mentoring, and HR/IR management.
* Supervising 40 company drivers and a contractor network.
* Assisting allocation teams to meet customer objectives for delivery in full and on-time.
* Ensuring safe and reliable delivery on internal and external customer sites, with compliance to Chain of Responsibility.
* Fleet Management and utilisation.
* Compliance with capital and maintenance programs, including depot asset maintenance.
* Cost management, including contract negotiations.
* Financial reporting and management with the Regional Manager and Finance team.
* Customer relationship management with Boral Concrete and external Customers, as well as subcontractors and rail providers.
Requirements:
* Experience in transport/supply chain/logistics and fleet management.
* Tertiary qualifications in supply chain, logistics, or inter-modal transport are beneficial.
* Proven track record of people and fleet management.
* Skills in cost management, business improvement, and project management.
* Ideal candidate should possess a Certificate IV in OHS with risk management and safety management experience.
* Understanding of heavy vehicles and equipment, including Chain of Responsibility.
* Proven ability to work collaboratively in an industrially-diverse environment, building trust and confidence.
